Family Budget Project (week 4)
Personal finance has been continuing to learn about the importance of financial planning and putting together a budget. This week, we will be putting everything together by putting together a sample budget for a family. Students will research jobs, required education, housing costs, taxes, credit card payments, car payments, utilities, grocery prices, and much more. As the students find out their randomly generated family and financial information, they will begin putting together their findings into a spreadsheet, then a PowerPoint presentation. This will be a great activity that allows students to see what all goes into the planning for a family budget, and to see why it is necessary for meeting their long-term financial goals. On Friday, we will continue to look at our stock market portfolios, current events, and work on our Acellus testing.

Budgets (week 3)
Personal finance class has just about finished their section on cash flow. Students have a study guide and have all of their graded work back to prepare for their test that they will take Monday. On Tuesday, they will go on to start learning about how to keep budgets. Also during the weeks, we keep track of our stock portfolios, look at current events, and work on our Acellus personal finance lessons.

Personal Finance (Week 1)
When we come back from break, we will be starting all new classes in room 1537! Personal Finance will start off getting to know each other and discussing our learning topics for the term. We will then do some activities with current events in personal finance. After the short 2-day week, we will start the following Monday learning about cash flow and financial decision making. I'm looking forward to meeting all the new students and teaching them some seriously important life skills!
